Ever find one of these? One of those items from your past that you'd thought long forgotten - but when it reappears is lucky enough to bring a flood of happy memories?

Those were good times. This represents one of the few beacons of joy in what was otherwise a pretty bloody shithouse existance for me. This reminds me of when I was happy. When I could ignore the world around me and focus on what I enjoyed.

Not to say I'm not happy now, not at all. But that... was a different kind of happy.

I never post here anymore. I'm a horrible friend.

Truth be told, I've just been busy with work. But it's a good thing. It's odd to feel genuine satisfaction and joy in your dayjob, I didn't think I'd feel that again since the Casino or before I got a Shield - so it's quite nice. I'm now working as a Loss Prevention Officer at the Alpharetta Marriott off Windward Parkway, on a permanent 3rd shift. A smaller hotel than the Renaissance Waverly which is nicer - more time and attention is spent on detail and guest satisfaction as opposed to wringing every last bloody dollar out of people. So if any of my friends, as in I've shaken your hand (or given you a hug for the femmes fatales out there) need a hotel room on the cheap, let me know. I can give you Friends&Family rate at any Marriott-Branded Property in the world.

In other news, there's a good chance I may be about to become a Homeowner. Jandi and I have found a great 3BR 2Ba property up in Alpharetta and we're off to make an offer this afternoon. So, fingers crossed.

Life is good. AWA is coming up, and apart from the fact that one needs to live like a pauper to purchase a house, there's not too much to complain about. Refreshing.

Have arrived safely in Orlando, Florida. Hell of a drive to make in the rain, but at least the roads are pretty well maintained.
